When I feel like cooking.

I love to cook and present the food neatly on the plate and take a good photo. I enjoy to have people I care over for dinner at my place. I have cooked some of the dishes I made yesterday except the fried Tempeh.

I was going to make Fish curry but I think it’s too much food and Stu always said “sayang you always over cater” haha..

Anyway..my birthday is around the corner (30th of march) and we all going to have a steamboat bash at my place!! can’t wait, and 20weeks to go till we going on holiday to Jakarta.

Vegetarian Day

On Sunday we had vegetarian day, Mulai dari sekarang kita bakal buat vegie day setiap bulan purnama 🙂 Iya itungan nya kata Stu tiap full moon. Nga tau kenapa ya gue ikutin ajah he he he Dia kan penganut si Buddha eke sih ok ok ajah..giliran gue yang bingung and cari inspirasi buat masak menu vegetarian, yang lezat dan ngebosenin.

So vegie day kita kali ini :

Vegetarian Hokkien Noodles ( only salt and pepper and sweet soy and soy sauce ) I added choy sum, cabbage, bean sprouts, corainder leaves.

Spicy Bittermelon and fried Tofu with extra very hot chilli (my fav with Put) , well I was not planning to make this dish but when I went to Asian grocery I saw this so prettyyyy bittermelon so green and fresh 🙂 I just couldn’t resist it even for $8.99 /kg! hehe.

Gado-Gado (well everones knows Gado2 anyway..) mix vegetables raw or cooked topped off with peanut sauce and bitternut crackers.

Chicken Schnitzel and Butter Chicken

Chicken Schnitzel is our all the time favourite dish. Sometimes I made this dish with simple Nasi goreng and salad. When lazy mode “on” we have it with chips or if I have extra energy side effect from Berocca we have it with steam veggies as well 😛

Also.. I love to dip my Chicky Snitzee on bloddy hot chilli sauce from Indo.. yumyum.. 😛

I have been craving with Indian food lately, I just love the taste of it. So Butter Chicken and Chappati now will join our favourite dishes from LD food galore.

Fathers Day – Blocks Cupcake

Made this blocks cupcakes for Fathers Day, inspired from my twin boys who loves to built blocks. Its easy to make the blocks fondant, the hard part was putting the small dots on the top of the block,you need extra patient and dedication 🙂

Weekend Gathering

Weekend kemaren kita undang Mama-Papa nya Stu buat dinner di rumah. Karena gue kepinginan bikin Curry Kapitan dan Coconut Pandan Pudding. SO jadi lah makanan2 dibawah ini. Curry Kapitan isn’t my favourite curry afterall, so I won’t be bother to put the recipe on my page 🙂

However the Pudding turns alright, ok lagh buat ngidam2 pingin makan yg manis2 ala indo.. resepnya guampang bgt deh ntr kalo sempet pasti gue taro resepnya di page samping 🙂

I also made some Crumbed Chicken ( I made this chicken many times so I didn’t take the photo) and Crumbed Cauliflower (same ingredients with my Crumbed Chicken). Kids enjoyed it. especially TC who loves the food galore on the weekend.. they ate like a horse 😀 (jelek mata dan serakah 🙂 biasa deh anak2..) tapi yg penting abis sih.. sayang gue nga potoin itu piring si TC.. bener2 sebakul ngambilnya tapi abis juga heheheh..

Few weeks ago we went to Indian Restaurant and ever since I was craving to make Samosa. Finally I got a change to make home made Samosa, the filling itself easy to make, the pastry?? tell me about it!! it’s pain in the ass.. but it’s really worth it, I can say its my favourite snack even though I had to knead the dough until my right knuckle sore hahaha..

I won’t use the home made pastry if I ever include this dish for our next party.. I will definitely use ready puff pastry,save my knuckle becomes retarded 🙂

Nasi Uduk (fragant coconut rice) is typical breakfast in Jakarta, yes some people have rice for breakfast in Jakarta 🙂 and Nasi Uduk always topped off fried onion and it comes with the Rolled Omellete and Fried Rice Noodle and Peanut Chilli Sauce.

I made this dish for dinner though, it’s pretty light dinner but I also made some Springrolls on the side (yes another 50 springrolls) 🙂 Cameron my little “rakus” boy requested the springrolls yesterday.

Nah ini dia.. si brokoli pertama dr kebun kita.. 🙂 seneng juga liat tanam2an kita berkembang dengan sempurna.. thanks to my hubby yg getol bgt ama kebunnya.. while sang istri yg metik2 ajah.. dan juga kita panen snow peas bo!! ampe jereng metiknya plus ampe enek makannya tapi tetebbb kita hepi bgt ama panen sayur mayur dr kebun huhahahahha..

Almond Jelly Dessert

I made this dessert inspired from my friend Adriani, but I decided to make it with pandan coconut milk instead of fruit juice, also I add more variety Asian canned fruits to give it more flavour and texture.

Once a while I like to make scrumptious breakfast for my husband and I, It was so delicious especially for winter breakfast.

2 days ago I wasn’t feel good, so Stu took over to look afer TC while I had my early night. The next morning when I got up, I saw this huge block standing in the middle of the dining area, I try to have a closer look wondering what it was, and I smiled hahahaha.. Its must be “mummy block”. So I went up to TC’s room and woke them up and said “I saw the giant mummy block” and they smiled to me and said “we made it for you last night to surprise you in the morning and to make you happy because you were unwell last night” and I hugged them and told them to take the photo with the blocks.

“Nasi Goreng Pete” is one of Indonesian dish which contains pete beans with its unique pungent taste.
While some people add extra prawns or chicken when they make this dish, I only add some chives and eggs topped with corned beef omelette.
